HARRODSBURG, Ky. (AP) Modine Manufacturing Co., which makesauto parts and cooling equipment, said Thursday it plans to shiftsome production to its Harrodsburg, Ky., plant from one of its U.S.facilities slated to close.

The Harrodsburg plant's work force is expected to double in sizeto about 400 hourly and 40 salaried employees as the companytransfers some operations from its Camdenton, Mo., facility.Production being transferred consists of aluminum radiators, chargeair coolers and oil coolers for the off-highway market.

Modine said it is working with the state of Kentucky to receivetax breaks in connection with the anticipated costs to expandproduction at the Harrodsburg plant.

In April, the company said it planned to close plants inCamdenton; Pemberville, Ohio; and Logansport, Ind., in addition toa facility in Germany, as part of a global restructuring program torealign manufacturing operations and improve profitability. Thecompany anticipates annual cost savings of up to $25 million as aresult of the closings.

Shares rose 48 cents, or 3.7 percent, to $13.35 in morningtrading. Shares have traded between $11.62 and $29.95 in the past12 months.
